Eating and Drinking in the Cotswolds

Restaurants & Pubs

We are incredibly fortunate to have so many amazing pubs in the area which serve very good food. These recommendations are from us the owners, and other locals. If you eat at a great pub and think other guests should know about it then please make an entry in the ‘comments book’ left at Pear Tree.

A few of our favourites are:

The White Hart in Stow-on-the-Wold has been recently refurbished and taken over by the team from the “Old Butcher”. They have a great lunch menu or you can simply have a Bloody Mary and homemade scotch egg. Tel 01451 830674, www.whitehartstow.com

The Talbot is slap bang in the middle of the square at Stow. Very relaxed and laid back, this is an ideal place to pop in to for a drink and/or something casual to eat.

Nether Westcote

The Feathered Nest is a recent winner of the AA award for the Best Pub in Britain, and deservedly so! This is a country pub, restaurant and inn with absolutely stunning views over the Evenlode valley. Equally stunning is the interior, even with leather saddles for stools at the traditional bar and the quality of the food is unsurpassed. You shouldn't miss this one!

Traditional flagstone floors and roaring fireplace make this a very cosy place to be in the autumn/winter months too! With separate dining rooms, this is an ideal pub for either romantic or family meals.
